Société de Cultures Légumières, SCL, is hiring a Packhouse Operations Director to lead its packhouses near Saint-Louis, Senegal.
SCL farms more than 1,500 hectares and produces sweetcorn, green beans, chilli peppers, onion and butternut squash for export and local markets. Its stations operate all year round and cover several sites.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Packhouse Operations Director ensures customer programme execution, product quality, traceability, certifications, yields, productivity, equipment efficiency and strong field team organisation.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the packhouses and flows between production, cold storage and dispatch
- Ensure compliance with quality, hygiene, food safety, traceability, audit and certification requirements.
- Improve yields, productivity, equipment efficiency and loss reduction.
- Supervise consumables, packaging, operational purchasing and station stock management.
- Manage field teams, organise planning, monitor discipline and support team development.
Candidate profile
- Higher education in food industry, agronomy, industrial production, quality, supply chain or equivalent.
- At least 8 to 10 years of confirmed experience in packing, packhouse operations, food production, fresh produce or a demanding industrial environment.
- Strong experience managing large teams, including permanent and daily workers.
- Strong field culture, with focus on performance, yields, continuous improvement and quality.
- Good written and spoken French and English.
